Welcome from the President

I am delighted to welcome you to Queens’ renowned theatrical society – BATS! Established in 1942, BATS celebrates its rich history of performing and creating productions with Cambridge theatre. Moving into a new era, BATS is excited to explore innovative and unconventional theatre, which challenges performers, production teams, and audiences alike. In this ethos, BATS particularly welcomes new writing, untold stories, and modes of theatre which develop performance skills, by encouraging students to reach new limits.Emma Mai-Yun Dawes, current bats president

Cloister Court
The home of summer festivities…
Every week, our renowned May Week Show takes place around Queens’ College, the focal point of which is Cloister Court; ensconced between some of the oldest buildings on the Cam and Queens’ very own President’s Lodge, the May Week Shakespeare production, in the environs of Cloister Court, is one of BATS’ oldest traditions.
